CAN WE HELP?
MISSION GOAL& VISION
WHAT WE WILL DO?

(This website is under development but please

CONTACT US if you want to be involved)

It is being built because we have a firm belief through the modern communication of the Internet and Email, that it is possible to develop a real-time communication between the people who need help in Kenya and you, as the donor, so that you can be fully immersed and be kept fully in the loop through Email, photos and the Internet

Maybe one day you will get on the plane to see  just how little it took  to make a significant difference to the life of a specific person or situation.

It is not our intention to help or resolve Kenya's major infrastructure requirements. That is the mission of the many fine organisations who have the manpower and infrastructure necessary required to undertake these large projects. The complex structure of these agencies are still required to help to resolve the overwhelming results of war and famine and to build major infrastructures such as sanitation, transport and water.
Of necessity there is a long chain between the donor (which ends for him/her when he claims his/her tax rebate) and the end beneficiary.
This has two problems -

  1. The donor is not emotionally involved after passing on the money and so loses out on the tremendous personal reward that comes from of being part of the whole transaction.
  2. Overhead infrastructure and the very real opportunity of corruption erode the availability of funds & materials at the work face to as little as 10% of donations made

How will we do it differently?
We need to acknowledge the huge differences that the Internet has & will make to the way we do business. The large charitable societies were developed in the 1960 - 1980 era when none of these inventions existed- the fax, mobile phones & the people’s power of the Text message, the instantaneous, free, Skype video communication, and the instant secure transfer of money through Paypal.
We no longer need an office building - the dining table will do and these 'offices' can have a videoconference in ten places across the world for free anytime they choose.

How will we marry donors to recipients?
Through a network of every day people in Kenya and by Email we will spread the word to schools and village leaders and individuals about what we do.

They will be asked to submit a resume, photographs and possibly video about their school, village and people and list a range of desirable individual & specific items that could be done to make a difference and an estimate of cost. For example –

New water tank US$100    1-year secondary school fees US$180

Carton of pens   US$ 30     1-years Internet access         US$250 etc. etc.

These will be placed on our webpages for potential donors to browse

How will we protect your money?
  • It is our intention to guarantee that 90% of donations end up being applied directly to the end benefit.
  • To start with the Charity will be run through a Legally Registered Trust based in New Zealand. New Zealand was recently voted the least corrupt country in the world – to us corruption is socially unacceptable.
  • There will be no cash transactions & every project will be verified and no through third party payments - only direct payment to the service supplier.

How do you get involved as a donor?

 1)     You Email the Trust with your interest and the information pack sent to you will start the ball rolling.

 2)   The selected potential recipient will be asked to obtain quotations for the project and a local volunteer will verify the project & the quotes exist.

 3)   The sponsor will transfer the donation to the Trust via Paypal

 4)   The project will be completed & verified locally

 5)   The contractor / supplier will be paid

6)   The recipient has a responsibility to communicate and involve the donor in the project (unless they had indicated a preference to remain anonymous).
