SO LITTLE COULD MAKE SO MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE
Here is a typical dilemma www.youtube.com/watch . A top student wants to be a doctor but his family can't afford to pay the US$130 fees he owes to the school. The school cannot afford to give him the Certificate otherwise they will never be paid.
The school needs the money to operate - Abdul needs the certificate to progress!
Is this the sort of situation that we could help in - YES IT IS?
How_we_can_help_with_school_fees
Here is the difficult environment that the schools in Kenya have to operate in www.youtube.com/watch . It is not our intention to ever build the schools, pay the teachers, or donate funds to third parties. Our intention is to make a difference below the radar of the providers of these services on an idividual & per case basis.
When the money does not come to the schools from whatever source they should then it is often the small things that suffer first - the supply of stationery, telephone & internet connection, electricity fuel costs, student basic comfort etc.
Is this the sort of situation that we could help in - YES IT IS?
"This is an Email I received and it is just the sort of low level assistance we should be able to give. (Charles was the the superb cook on the Roverlands Safari we did in January 2010)"
HI, hope this finds you well. My name is gabriel KImani. Am the son to charles njuguna the famous cook and your friend. He told me that you are work with charitable organisations.i am working with a boys rescue center called Emmanuel boys rescue center. i am writing requesting whether your organisation can be able to assist our center in fund raising. The centre provides rehabilitation of former street boys in nairobi Kenya. We provide them with a shelter food and accommodation and then send them to school and vocational training. We currently have about 35 boys in the house. We have a website www.emmanuelcenter.com . We have many educational needs as all of these boys are either in school or vocational institutions and there is a big burden of funding their fees. We have some sponsors from Canada but the needs are too many that whatever we get is not able to cater for all the boys needs. if you could assist in any way, i would be grateful www.emmanuelcenter.com/page1556.php
We intend to build a network of school contacts. These schools will be asked to submit a resume to be published on our website. On this resume will be a list of 6 items on a wish list and a brief description on how each wish can be filled and an idea of cost.
Depending on direct sponsorship availability or general funds available we can make funds available to cases that meet a set of criteria -
- Is this a genuine & deserving case that is under the radar of major infrastructure suppliers?
- Would this action rectify a problem that is affecting the normal day to day running of the school.
- The project will be independently verified, quoted on, inspected for payment.
- Payment will only be made directly to the bank of the service provider.
- Will the school, within its capabilities, be prepared to repay this action forward by becoming involved in the promotion of the CHILDREN of KENYA TRUST
