The NZCPS holds two regular shows each year - our Annual Spring Show & Sale held in November and our Annual Summer Show & Sale held in March. These shows are open to the public and offer a great opportunity to see carnivorous plants that generally are not likely to be seen at other times of the year. The extensive displays will amaze you with the wide variety of form and structure and confirm not only the beauty of carnivorous plants, but equally just how diverse a group of plants they are!
Extensive plant sales are offered at reasonable prices at the shows and consist of both plants propagated by NZCPS members and commercial growers alike. There are also carnivorous plant books and merchandise available, as well as seeds and other sundries like potting media and speciality products, such as live sphagnum moss, perlite and SuperSphag.
Make the most of the day and stay for refreshments whilst you take part in the free lectures and demonstrations held throughout the day - these talks offer hands on experience for both the novice and advanced grower. From propagation techniques, such as division and stem cuttings, to flower pollination and hybridisation, to species identification and what to do about pests and diseases.
